Since the start of my website in the early 2000’s, people have asked me over and over again, if witches can save the world and turn back time. How nice it would be if we could, dearie!
This isn’t such a fanciful idea, as in the worlds we witches merge into, there is no time, time in the divine and spirit realms does not exist. Time is a man made phenomena, and though it is still naturally marked by our faces if not our watches, it still exists for us, because we are mortal. But the world beyond the veils is immortal, time has no meaning, all things merge. So why could witches not turn back time and stop the horrors of the first world war? Could we stop the savagery and carnage of young life that has marked Britain and Europe’s history and touched every family of our nation?
The answer is I don’t believe or I’m not aware of anyone ever having tried, but it would surely take a great many of us joined together in common cause. But there is a conundrum beyond the obvious, if witchcraft were used to stop the horrors of the past and give the world a second chance and stop the lives of millions of young men ending before their time, where would that leave us? Changing yesterday changes today, if we stop one brave young man from dying in the first world war, he would probably have married and had children that are now unborn, and that wife would mean that another fellow might not have married, and that those now living today might never have been born.
You see I am not joking when I say that all magic requires a sacrifice and turning back the clock, the evils of the past, even of yesterday have powerful repercussions for today. Who of us can be sure that we would be here, that some saved life would not in accident have run over a great great grandparent or performed some other action that meant that you who are reading this would now be unborn forever? However it should be noted that British witches and psychics were used to fight the Nazi peril in the second world war. It may well be said that but for us, things might have gone a little differently, but witches did their bit as every other soul in this country did to maintain our liberty, and protect our nation and our dear shores from evil and invasion.
But the lack of time in love spells and spells does have some fascinating effects. If I cast a love spell for a friend in a week, they may feel the effects tomorrow, six days in advance. This is because the moment I decide to cast the love spell, it has happened and will happen. So it often seems to start working before it is cast, so why cast at all you say, because then it would not be scheduled to happen and it would not start to have effects. But the effects are only for a week or few days ahead of the casting, not years, or the reason for the casting would not appear. It is strange and mysterious as is all magic and so fascinating.
